2024 Log Cabin Art Contest

2024 Art Contest Winners and their families.
The selected winners for the 2024 Log Cabin Day Art Contest are standing with their families in front of the 1879 Smith Log Cabin. The artists are from left to right, First Place-Piper, the two Honorable Mentions-Josephine and Lincoln. Their elementary art teacher Allison Goodwin is standing on the right holding the drawings of Second Place winner Aurora, and Third Place winner Falyn.

Sunday, May 19th, was a beautifully bright and sunny day as Meridian Elementary School second graders and their families gathered in front of the Smith Log Cabin to be recognized for their creative talents.

Approximately 100 children were asked to draw a picture of what life was like living in a log cabin. Five students were selected by the judges, and they were awarded a ribbon, a certificate, and received tickets for free hot dog meals at the Founders Day celebration on September 7th and 8th.

Judging for the museum were Nick and Nancy Kraemer, Deb Jones, Linda Fisher, and Belinda Lyons.

There is never a shortage of talent, and this year is no exception. All artworks will be on display in the 1889 Felix Schoolhouse, and you are encouraged to visit the museum to see this colorful exhibition.
