2025 Give Local Midland

The SHS Board says, “Help us make history!” Mark your calendars for May 6th, 2025 – we’re participating in Give Local Midland, a 24 hour online giving event for nonprofits, and we’d love your support!

If you’ve ever thought about donating to the Sanford Historical Society, May 6th is the perfect day to do so! — This year there are two funds to support us!

We have some exciting news to share with you! On May 6, 2025, the Sanford Historical Society is joining over 50 local nonprofits in raising money to help improve our community.

The Museum complex has ten buildings to maintain and with our Endowment Fund through MACF we can do those special projects that keep the complex in top shape.  With donations from our helpful supporters through the Midland Area Community Foundation, we can continue to maintain and improve the museum for present and future generations to enjoy.

We need you to help us with three things:

1. Mark Give Local Midland on your calendar for May 6, 2025, from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Sanford Historical Society is participating in Give Local Midland! Every donation will be matched by MACF only if you donate to our endowment fund through the link here for the Main Museum Fund: https://www.givelocalmidland.org/organizations/sanford-historical-society.
2. This year there is an exciting opportunity to help secure the enhancement, maintenance, and assist with the heat and lights well into the future of the Sanford Santa House. All of this will be made possible with your donation, matching dollar-for-dollar from the Sanford Historical Society ($5,000 maximum total), and a portion of the Give Local Midland matching pool. Here is one example: Your $100 donation is matched by the SHS ($100), and then this is 20% ($40) matched by the matching pool for a total of $240 going into the Santa House endowment fund. All qualifying donations must be received on May 6, 2025. Online donations can be made from 12:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. on May 6th at https://www.givelocalmidland.org.

Gifts of cash or check must be received at MACF offices located at 76 Ashman Circle between the hours of 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on May 6th. If you would like a tax deduction, an offline gift form must be filled out and turned in with your gift. Bulk offline gifts (more than 10 gifts of check/cash at a time) must be received no later than 3 p.m. and include offline donor gift forms (provided by MACF) prior to the event by request.
